The price of Mocatta Jewelers 24k gold jewelry is based on the gram weight at the prevailing world gold market price. Our labor, service and design fee varies depending on the weight, design and features of the item and is generally 30%-35% over the spot price of gold.

The cost of pure gold bullion per gram
Mocatta Jewelers charges design and labor fee. It covers all aspects of the design and labor to take pure gold bullion and have our goldsmiths craft it into custom-made “wearable gold” / 24K gold jewelry.
In the U.S. gold purity is measured using the karat system. The karat system measures the ratio of pure gold to parts of non-precious metal in a piece of gold jewelry.
Karat (K): Measures gold purity out of 24 parts.
24K Gold
Purity: 99.5% or higher (24/24 parts are gold)
Color: Bright yellow
Properties: Very soft, easily scratched, usually not used for jewelry that’s worn daily
18K Gold
Purity: 75% (18 parts gold, 6 parts metal)
Color: Rich yellow, slightly less intense than 24K
Properties: More durable than 24K, often used in high-quality jewelry
14K Gold
Purity: 58.3% (14 parts gold, 10 parts metal)
Color: Warm yellow, slightly paler than 18K

Once the customer has spoken to us about what they want and is ready to place an order, we will produce a 24-hour pre-quote based on the current market price of gold so the customer has a rough idea of the price.
Typically, the pre-quote should be within 5% of the final price charged when a customer actually pays within the next 24 hours, as gold prices are constantly changing but rarely move more than 5% in a 24-hour period.
Please note: Due to the design and process of hand-making the product, the final weight of the product can vary by up to 1 gram.
Payment method and payment options
We accept bank deposits and wire transfers. Bank information and instructions, please call or e-mail us.
We accept credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover) with a processing fee of approximately 3% of the transaction.
Orders are insured and shipped by courier with tracking once they are completed and fully paid. An adult signature will be required at delivery.
Typically orders take 3-4 weeks depending on the type of order. We will confirm the time frame before placing an order and we will keep you posted on the status of the finished product before shipping.
The Mocatta guarantee has lasted for 354 years. Our product will be the U.S. standard of fineness for 24K gold jewellery.
If a client is not happy with their product, Mocatta Jewelers will buy it back at the current price of gold value minus a 10% melt and process fee.
